The Apollo boys’ basketball team nearly posted back-to-back wins, but a big fourth quarter by Muhlenberg County ended with the Eagles taking a 63-54 loss on the road.

Apollo (2-19) got 22 points from Malik Wilson, and they held a 41-38 lead after three quarters. The Mustangs (10-8) scored 25 points — using three 3-pointers and 12 free throws — in the final frame, and the Eagles weren’t able to get enough scoring down the stretch.

Muhlenberg County got to the line 34 times, missing only seven, while Apollo went 8-for-13 on the night.

Dan St. Claire added 12 points for the Eagles.
