BOYS’ BASKETBALL:
Warren East 76, Apollo 41
The Eagles dropped to 1-6 in the loss to Warren East (3-2) in a game played at South Warren as part of the Rafferty’s Shootout. No stats were available.
Apollo plays against Tuesday at Butler County at 7 p.m.
WRESTLING
Daviess County’s high school and middle school teams competed at the Boyle County Big Brother Duals. The middle school went 1-3 on the day, beating Boyle County and losing to Larue County, McCreary County and Wayne County. Carson Hendrix and Chance Carman both went 3-1.
The high school went 1-4 on the day, dropping the first match to region powerhouse Larue County 66-15. They then rebounded to tie Danville and McCreary County both 36-36, but the Panthers lost the tie breaker both times 37-36. They then fell to Taylor County 39-36.
Daviess County ended the day by defeating Thomas Nelson 66-12 in a regional matchup. Reese Haight went 5-0 to stay undefeated on the season — he’s now 12-0 — beating Taylor County’s Jackson Grimsley, who is ranked No. 13 in the state. Landen Boone and Brayden Davis went 4-1 on the day.
CHEERLEADING
The teams from Apollo, Daviess County and Owensboro competed at the KHSAA State Competitive Cheer competition in Lexington.
