Youth football player and Owensboro Catholic eighth-grade Kolbe Kemper has been selected to play for the Team Kentucky 2023 National team as a defensive back.
Kemper is a two-time selections, and he is also playing in the All American 8th Grade Showcase game in Las Vegas, Nev., in January.
The National Championship is the biggest event in youth football and crowns a champion across three grade levels, with competition from top athletes living everywhere in the U.S.
The all-star team from Kentucky will play Minnesota in round 1 and either Indiana or Missouri for rights to play for National Championship in Florida.
The first two rounds of the tournament take place at one of eight regional sites and take place Dec. 1-2. Championship week takes place Dec. 16-20 in Naples, Fla.
Kemper was also selected to the 2019 Elite East vs West Vegas Game located in Las Vegas, where top players from the regional games will go head to head, east vs. west and coast vs. coast. Kemper was selected by having a great week in Dallas, Texas, at practice and in the game.
