Valerie Sims, 40, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born September 19, 1978 in Daviess County to Anthony and Leolla Hurm Sims.
Valerie graduated from Apollo High School in 1996 and worked as a Quality Control Tech at Total Packaging. She enjoyed horseback riding and always had a passion for music, whether it was playing the clarinet when she was young, going to concerts, listening to her favorites, or dancing and acting goofy.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Richard and Edith Alvey Hurm; and paternal grandparents, Andrew and Lora Sims.
Valerie is survived by her parents, Anthony and Leolla Hurm Sims of Owensboro; a son, Aris Jackson Sims of Owensboro; her sister, Lora Cento (Pete) of Beech Grove, TN; brothers, Anthony Joseph Sims of Rockport, IN and Brandon Matthew Sims (Whitney) of Owensboro; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The memorial service will be 2PM Monday, September 24, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home Crematory with Father Pat Bittel officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
