Gay Nell Edds

Gay Nell Edds, 88, of Lexington, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at The Willows at Citation in Lexington. She was born July 19, 1933 in Owensboro to the late E.Y. and Grace Martin Allen. Gay Nell was a 1951 graduate of Daviess County High School and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College. She worked many years at General Electric and retired from U.S. Bank. Gay Nell was a member of First Baptist Church and an active member of DAR.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ray Edds; and siblings, Kenneth Allen, Harold Allen, Talmage Allen, Lowry Allen, Tylene Leeper, and Martha Meng.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney Edds (Kathy) and Marc Edds (Melissa) both of Lexington; four grandchildren, Andrew Edds (Lindsey), Abigail Orange (Phillip), Taylor Edds, and Logan Edds; one great-grandchild; siblings, Ed Allen (Evolyn) of Owensboro and Don Allen (Joana) of Berwyn, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory and after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church.
