
Brownie Lee Alford, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born March 7, 1938 in Daviess County to the late William Thomas and Laura Ann Payne Johnson. She retired from General Electric and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. Brownie enjoyed crafts, quilting and loved gardening. What scared her kids more than the IRS was the Clint Eastwood stare she would give.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Ray Alford; son, Steve Allen Alford; and brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughter, Robin Alford; son, Kimbely Ray; six grandchildren, Barbara, Paula, Cindy, Jeremy, Brandon, and Jenny; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday at the funeral home.
