Joseph Michael “Mike” Boone, 68, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Owensboro. He was born on March 2, 1950 in Owensboro to the late Joseph Hillary Boone and Dorothy Mae Williams Boone. He formerly was employed as a manager at Taylor’s Foodland. Mike loved farming and cattle auctions. But most of all, he loved his grandchildren and he was a big part of their lives.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Howard (Donald Kelly) of Summerville, South Carolina; a son, Joseph Matthew Boone (Taylor) of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Trenton Howard, Jaiden Howard, Lauren Howard, Brayden Boone and Maddox Boone; siblings, Brenda Jo Edge and Francis Sims (Robert), both of Owensboro and Randy Boone (Marcia) of Masonville; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Cynthia Middleton Boone of Charleston, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the Chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
