Sylvia Ann McCarthy Aldridge, 61 of Philpot peacefully left this life Thursday, August 30, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born July 8, 1957 to the late Jess and Willie Mae Higgs. Sylvia worked at River Valley Heath Care for over 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, especially planting flowers. Sylvia also loved to sew, crochet, and watch the hummingbirds. She selflessly loved and served her family, always finding ways to be a blessing to anyone who knew her. Sylvia especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Margaret Sumner; her brothers, Jessie Lee McCarthy, Earl McCarthy, Charles Edward McCarthy, Robert Bray, George McCarthy, and Donald McCarthy.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Donnie Aldridge of Philpot; her daughters, Trina Page (Jason) of Owensboro and Joy Ihle (Al) of Polk, IA; her son, Jason Shane May of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Joshua McFadden, Emily Shelton, Haley Page, and Hannah Page; her sister, Alice Wermling (Gene) of Owensboro; her brother, Jimbo McCarthy of Pleasant Ridge; several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 4PM Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Jamus Edwards will officiate. The burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be 1-4PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society
