
Ben Harvey Ferguson,79 of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Heartford House. He was born December 21, 1938 to the late Chester and Pauline Ferguson. Ben was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He retired from OMU as an operating supervisor after 34 years of service. Ben was a US Navy Veteran serving as a member of the Navel Emergency Ground Event Force stationed in Cuba. His service also included involvement in the Cuban Missile Crisis as a crew member of the USS York County LST 1175 which was part of the Cuban Missile Crisis blockade. Ben enjoyed working with his hands and was very meticulous in everything he was involved with.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carroll Ferguson
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Doris Ferguson of Owensboro; his 3 sons, Andrew Ferguson (Carol) of Crab Orchard, KY, Joe Ferguson of Philpot, and Logan Ferguson (Ashley) of Utica; his grandchildren, Jessie, Laura, Lincoln, Simon, Griffin, and Walker Ferguson; his brother, Mike Ferguson of Owensboro; his sister, Lana Crowe of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews
The service will be 10AM Friday, August 31, 2018 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Fr. Mike Clark will officiate. The burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and 9AM until service time on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky c/o Heartford House.
