Evelyn Mattingly, 92, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at her home. She was born September 20, 1926 in Maceo, KY to the late Marion and Bessie Richardson Bolton. She had been employed at W.T. Grant’s as a customer service manager and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Evelyn loved her dog, Piper, family vacations, and secret excursions with her children.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Joseph Mattingly; and great-grandchildren, Gregory Joseph Lindsey and Kristina Rae Thorpe.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Wilson (Jeff) of Rockport, IN, Judy Friedrichs, and Connie Trogden (Richard) both of Owensboro; one granddaughter and caregiver, Tracey Cavender (Scott) of Owensboro; six grandsons, Eric Friedrichs (Alba) of Avondale, AZ, Jason Fischer (Amanda) of Boonville, IN, Justin Fischer of Mt. Vernon, IN, Mark Thorpe (Michelle), Brian Thorpe and Bruce Thorpe, all of Owensboro; and many great & great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory officiating by Deacon John Cecil. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
