Matthew Blair Roush, 68, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Point Pleasant, WV native was born September 20, 1956, to the late Samuel and Elsie Rardin Roush. Matt received his bachelor’s degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Fairmont University in West Virginia. He was employed at the Indiana Michigan Power Plant in Rockport for over 37 years and retired in 2020. Matt was gifted in woodworking and produced many pieces of furniture and cabinets from his shop at home. He found much pleasure in playing golf with his co-workers and friends. Another enjoyment was going out for dinner with his wife and friends where his generosity would prompt Matt to occasionally pay for an unknown couple or family’s meal.
In addition to his parents, Matt also was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Roush.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Beth Roush; two children, Jonathan Roush of Columbia, TN and Brooke Roush of Conroe, TX; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service with Masonic honors will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 28, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
