
Joseph A. Boehman, Jr., 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1945 in Owensboro to the late Joseph A. Boehman Sr. and Mary Helen Lanham Boehman. Joseph retired from Field Packing as a supervisor and also worked at Jim David Meats. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Pius Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Bill” M. Boehman, Sr. and Andrew “Andy” Paul Boehman; and a sister, Betty G. Ubler.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Sue Canary Boehman; two daughters, Cassandra “Sandy” Goins (David) and Debra “Debbie” Baker; two sons, Joseph M. Boehman (Kevin Bunch) and James “Kenny” Boehman (Sherri); seven grandchildren, Ashley Goins, J.D. Goins, Cassidy Goins, Jessica Basham, Brandon Seth Edmonds-Lindsey, Haylee Eubanks, and D.J. Baker; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, David Boehman (Brenda), Frank Boehman (Rita), Phillip Boehman (Jamie), Jeff Boehman (Stevie), John Boehman (Aggie), all of Owensboro, Mary Hesher of Whitesville, Kathy Miller of Webster County, Brenda Jackson of Whitesville, Donna Early (Terry) of Reynolds Station, and Chrissy Cecil (Ricky) of Maceo; sister-in-law, Edith Boehman of Owensboro; many nieces and nephews; and a family friend, Terry Fulks.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 at St. Pius Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday with prayers at 6:00 p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will also be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
