
BEECHMONT – Jimmy Hunt, 78, died surrounded by family at his home in Beechmont on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 4:38PM. Mr. Hunt was born January 14, 1947 in Muhlenberg County. He enjoyed fixing up older model cars, stock car racing, and working in the yard. He loved Fiats, he built an electric car, and an overflow on the cooling system before its time. He retired from Emerson Electric after 15 years, then went on to TVA and retired as Maintenance Foreman after 30 years. After accepting the Lord as his Savior, he was ordained in 1980 at Dunmor Baptist Church as a deacon, and is currently a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Ray” Hunt and Maymie Hunt; brother, Bobby Ray (Peggy) Hunt; Mother and Father-in-law, Earl and Nellie Ditzer; and brother-in-law, Jerry Rittenberry.
He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Jean Ditzer Hunt; daughter, Donella Poore; son, Jimmy “Brian” (Amy) Hunt; four grandchildren, Morgan (Ashley) Thompson, Aaron (Kirsten) Poore, Madison (Mason) Schnadinger, and Ethan Hunt; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Rittenberry.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 1PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home in Beechmont with Bro. Bob Thurman officiating. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9AM-1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
