CENTRAL CITY – Tony Gerald Edwards, 70, of Central City, died Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10:30AM at his residence. Mr. Edwards was born July 24, 1954 in Greenville. He was a member of Green River Chapel General Baptist Church and worked as a Mechanic for Lester Motors. He enjoyed golf, restoring cars, fishing, stargazing, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Floella Edwards; brothers, Bobby Edwards, Donald Edwards, Danny Edwards, and Joe Edwards; father and mother-in-law, L.D. and Donnie Shemwell; and sister-in-law, Carole Ann Shemwell.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Edwards; son, Steve (Lacey) Edwards; daughter, Mary Ann (Chuck) French; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth French, Steven Carter Edwards, AnnaLee Faith French, Elle Marie Groves, and Lucas Scott Groves; great-grandchild, Kentrell Lee Leggs; brother, Tommy Edwards; sister, Sue Woodson, brother-in-law, Darrell Shemwell; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Shemwell, Sue Edwards, Susie Edwards, and Jane Edwards; and several adored nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Jewel Martin officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
