
Archie P. Keown 87, of Richland, Indiana, formerly of Elba and Madisonville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at his home in Richland, Indiana. Archie Patrick Keown was born December 2, 1937 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late David Archie and Addie Mae Bates Keown.
Archie retired as a cook on the tow boats for the Crounse Corporation on the Green River and was a member of The Refuge in Reo. Archie loved horseback riding, riding motorcycles, and square dancing. He loved his dogs, which were like his own children. Archie never knew a stranger, he especially enjoyed telling stories and visiting with both his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by a brother, James Keown; three sisters, Linda Lou Keown, Lucy Lovell and Louise Coomes; two nieces, Janice Hall and Carolyn Hyatt; and two nephews, Randy Keown and Larry Coomes.
Archie is survived by five nieces, Joann Sneed of Eddyville; Judy O’Neil of Earlington; Janice Young (Lorne) of Hatfield, Indiana, Kathy Smith (Al) of Francesville, Indiana, and Nicole Thomas (Brent) of Rockport, Indiana; two nephews, Lincoln Barnard, Jr. (Aline) of Boonville, Indiana and Tommy Coomes (Brenda Crouch) of Vincennes, Indiana; several great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Friends may visit with Archie’s family from 8:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
