On a small hill, at his favorite spot on his family farm in Fordsville, Kentucky, Leonard “Mike” Marlowe, age 72, of Knottsville, Kentucky, went to meet our Lord, on Wednesday evening, April 9th, 2025. He was born on May 5th, 1952, in Gary, Indiana, to William “Bill” Marlowe and Charlotte Davison Marlowe.
Mike was a graduate of Calumet High School in Gary, Indiana and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum following 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, camping and traveling, especially to Ireland. Mike was also an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and Indiana University sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ellen Stacy Marlowe; stepmom Vicki Koehler Marlowe; stepbrothers Jim Boyd (Bobbi), Tom Boyd (Dawn), Bob Boyd and stepsister Judy Kender. Daughters Jennifer “Jenna” Marlowe Nichols, Catherine Marlowe; son William “Brion” Marlowe; daughter Mary Marlowe Ijames (Robert); ten grandsons, two grand-daughters-in-law, one great-grand-daughter and many extended family members and friends.
Mike was proceeded in death by his parents, “Bill” and Charlotte; sister Patty Marlowe Crosby and daughter Angela Marie Marlowe.
The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Owensboro, Kentucky with Fr. John Paul Mang officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday with prayers from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prior to the Funeral Mass, visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
