Sally Kluttz Pulliam

Sally Kluttz Pulliam, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born April 10, 1933 in Albemarle, North Carolina to the late James Heath and Mary Few Kluttz.

Mrs. Pulliam was a 1955 graduate of the Women’s College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She majored in history and secondary education. Sally taught for several years before the birth of her children.

She and her husband, Edward T. Pulliam, began their lives together in Richmond, Virgina and enjoyed more than 56 wonderful years of marriage before his death in 2013.

Mrs. Pulliam was a long-time and active member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Women’s Society. She was employed by the Property Valuation Office and volunteered at the Help Office.

She lived her recent years at Cedarhurst where she enjoyed many friendships and engaging activities. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Heartford House for the kindness they showed Sally in her last days.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lewis Kluttz Thomas; and a son-in-law, John Thacker.

Mrs. Pulliam is survived by her children, Laurie Pulliam Thacker of Owensboro, Mark Pulliam (Cathy) of Louisville, KY and Jim Pulliam (Nina) of Isle of Palms, SC; grandchildren, Elizabeth Armstrong (James), Frances Horner (Nate), Margaret Crowley (Wade), Jim and Stuart Pulliam, Sarah, Heath and Kate Pulliam; great-grandchildren, Thacker Horner, Ansley and Caroline Armstrong and Lucy Pulliam; a step-great-grandson, Preston Horner.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
