LaVerne Ray Mastin, 99, of Lewisport, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Daviess County, KY on September 26, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Clara M. Ray. LaVerne was a member of Lewisport Methodist Church and was a graduate of Daviess County High School. She was a former member of the Kelly Cemetery Board. LaVerne loved working in her yard and sharing flowers with her neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin “Toey” Masin and her son, Frederick “Freddie” Mastin.
LaVerne is survived by several cousins and one special one, Carol S. Roberts.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel with Pastor Bridget Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 am until 1 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewisport United Methodist Church, Kelly Cemetery Fund or Lewisport Cemetery Fund.
