Richard “Dick” Rickard, 76, of Lexington passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The Terre Haute, Indiana native was born January 17, 1949, to the late Myron and Norma Jean Scott Rickard. Dick’s family moved to Owensboro when his father began working at the local steel mill. He grew up as a free spirit who loved Harley motorcycles and fast cars. Dick also had the mechanical skills to fix motorcycles and other vehicles. Deep down he was a kindhearted man who loved his family, especially his mother.
In addition to his parents, Dick also was preceded in death by his brother, Myron Jack Rickard and niece, Laura Kay Rickard.
Survivors include his two brothers, Randy Rickard (Sherry) and Barney Rickard both of Owensboro; nieces and nephews, Amanda Alvey, Jackson Rickard (Ashley), Jeff Rickard, Kaley Hiland (Zach), Alyssa Wilde (James Staubb), Cody Davidson, and Shane Rickard; several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 10 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
