
Dorothy Emogene Harl, 93, of Owensboro passed away on April 4, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky & Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born on March 25, 1932 to the late John Owen and Lula Simpson. Emogene was a beloved mother of four children and after her retirement from General Electric she enjoyed traveling, quilting, playing bingo, gardening, and working with flowers and plants, she loved to be outside with nature.
In addition to her parents, Emogene was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Harl; daughter, Vickie Frank; sisters, Francis Frazier, Sara Goatee, and Myrtle Miller; and brothers, Tom Simpson and George Simpson.
Survived to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Barbara Miller Kee and Marquetta Miller; son, Charles Miller (Brea); grandchildren, Stewart Ray Barnett (Delight), Tekoah Eubank (Mike), Candice Reuss, C. Matthew Miller (Robin), Nicholas Miller (Melissa), and Jonathan Miller; step-grandchildren, Holly Tussey (Tim) and Carrie Rust (Todd); 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home with burial following the service at Greenbrier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
