Clara Margaret Buchele McCoy, age 91 of Cloverport, KY passed away April 2, 2025, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, IN. She was born in Wanda, IL on March 1, 1934, daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Dike. Clara was a longtime member of Cloverport Methodist Church where she was very involved with various activities. She was a member of Cloverport Homemakers. She enjoyed the holidays and looked forward to making Christmas cookies for her family. She loved baking them as much as they loved eating them. She was a UK Wildcats basketball fan, made crafts, loved to travel and was a wonderful cook. Clara was a very kind, quiet lady who loved her family, her church and her community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Dr. Earl Buchele and Bernard ‘Jiggs’ McCoy, her daughter-in-law Dianne Buchele and siblings William Dike and Shirley Twiggs.
Clara is survived by her sons – Brentley Buchele of Kalispell, Montana; David Buchele (Mitzi) of Cloverport, KY; Paul Buchele of Vernal, Utah and Tom Buchele of Hawesville, KY.
3 grandchildren: Rachel Roach (Josh), Hannah Blanton (J B) and Anne Campbell (Alex)
5 great grandchildren: Bella Roach; Jace, Colt and Cora Blanton and Adria Campbell
1 brother: Chuck Dike (Ruth Ann) of Newark, IL
Funeral services will be held at Cloverport Methodist Church on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, 4-7 PM and Monday, 9 – 11 AM. All times are central.
