
Linda D. Bivens, 81, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Daviess County native was born March 14, 1944, to the late Chester Levi Bowlds and Muriel May Nesmith Bowlds. Linda worked as a telephone operator and retired from a telephone answering service. She loved watching movies and UK basketball and was an avid reader. Most of all, Linda enjoyed the times she spent with her family and friends. She would get together every Friday night with her sister, Joyce and niece, Alisa and play cards.
In addition to her parents, Linda also was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Bivens in 2017; sons, Mark and Christopher Bivens; sister, Sandra Lee DeLacey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tracy Bivens; two grandsons, Isaiah Malachi and Aaron “A.J.” Carbon all of Owensboro; sister, Joyce Simpson; several nieces and nephews including her niece and caregiver, Robin Singletary; long-time friend, Debbie Frey; friend and caregiver, Susan Cure ton.
The funeral service will be noon Monday, April 7 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 pm and Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace at Rosehill Cemetery.
