Larry Eugene Burris, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation. He was born January 19, 1948 in Owensboro, KY to the late William Bill Burris and Marian Brown Fentress. Larry was a minister for 25 years and loved spending time with friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad who raised him, Mervil Fentress; maternal-grandparents, Gobel and Evelyn Brown; paternal-grandparents, Beckham and Ida Jane Wright Fentress.
He is survived by his wife, Vivan Sue Burris; a son, Bryan Burris; a daughter, Deborah Burris; a brother, Dennis Fentress; two sisters, Connie Carlisle and Linda West; brothers-in-law, Russel West and Mitchell (Renee) Pearl; an uncle who was more of a brother, Donald Brown; two special aunts, Iris Brown and Sue Sublett; and more nieces, nephews, family, and friends than we can count.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of his arrangements.
