Darron Lee Brawner 51, of the Poplar Grove Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 in Owensboro. Darron Lee Brawner was born October 26, 1973 in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Michael L. and Judith Ann Yonts Brawner and was married to the former Jana Marie Kessinger on May 6, 2017. Darron was a cherished husband, father, nephew, colleague, and friend. His warmth and kindness touched many throughout his 51 years of life.

Darron’s early years were spent in the close-knit community of McLean County, where he graduated from McLean County High School in 1992. His love for learning and commitment to excellence led him to further his education at Western Kentucky University, an institution he proudly supported throughout his life. Darron’s academic journey continued as he pursued and achieved his law degree from Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa.

Professionally, Darron was the owner and operator of Western Kentucky Elder Law in Owensboro. His dedication to his work was evident in the care and expertise he brought to his clients and colleagues. Darron was not only a trusted legal advisor but also a pillar in his professional community, known for his integrity and kindness.

Darron was a member of the Baptist faith. He lived his beliefs through his actions and interactions with others. He was a beacon of compassion and generosity, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

An avid supporter of Western Kentucky University, Darron loved attending sporting events and activities, where he shared his Hilltopper pride with fellow fans. His interests extended beyond the bleachers; Darron was an adventurer at heart. He had a passion for traveling and could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the tranquility of deep-sea fishing. These moments of exploration and relaxation brought great joy to Darron and those who accompanied him.

At home, Darron’s kindred spirit was embodied by his dog, ‘Roxie’, who was a constant source of companionship and joy. Their bond was a reflection of Darron’s capacity for love and kindness, traits that defined him.

Those who knew Darron will remember him for his great sense of humor and kind heart. He was a man who listened more than he spoke, and when he did speak, his words were filled with wisdom and empathy. Darron’s legacy is one of love, service, and dedication to his family, faith, and community.

In addition to his parents, Darron was preceded in death by a son, Austin Ruffin and his step father, Norman Smith.

Darron is survived by his wife, Jana Brawner; three sons, Clay Brawner, Trae Ruffin, and Jackson Brawner all at home; a daughter, Cati Brawner at home; a bonus son, who was like his own son, Parker Caudle at home; a brother, Michael Brawner (June) of Calhoun; two nephews, Avery Brawner (Sarah) and Jonah Brawner (Morgan) both of Calhoun; an aunt, Myrna Southard (Joe) of McHenry; several business colleagues and many friends.

Family services will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Darron’s family. As a proud WKU Grad, Darron’s final resting place will be on campus in the Western Kentucky University Columbarium.
