Joseph Chandler Hunt, 28, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2025. Joseph was born in Owensboro on May 25, 1996, to Jeff and Amy Iracane Hunt.
Family was the heart of Joseph’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved most. Joseph deeply valued his parents’ life lessons and guidance, cherishing unforgettable family trips to Disney, Miami, and his favorite city, New York. Joseph was immensely proud of his siblings, treasuring the special moments they shared. He was their greatest supporter, celebrating each of their accomplishments, big or small. His time with his grandparents was especially dear. He loved exploring genealogy alongside Daddy Bob, cooking Italian food and singing with Poppie, decorating the house during the holidays while listening to ABBA with Nonnie, and baking Hershey Bar pies while learning about gardening from Ninnie. Joseph’s love for his family was a guiding force throughout his life, shaping him into the remarkable person he became.
An Owensboro High School graduate, Joseph proudly served as Senior Class President for the Class of 2015. A true Red Devil, just like his beloved Nonnie, he cherished the lasting friendships formed during those years. Joseph admired Dolly Parton deeply, inspired by her strength, determination, and resilience. He also found great joy in his work at Tamarack Elementary, supporting children with special needs.
Joseph lived a life of compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to others. Larger than life in spirit, he wore his heart on his sleeve, embracing every person he met without judgment or hesitation. Radically generous, Joseph dedicated himself wholeheartedly to serving his community, consistently placing others’ needs above his own. His gift for comforting others and finding the right words at the right moments brought solace and strength to many. Ever thoughtful and faithful, he regularly checked in on friends, ensuring no one felt forgotten or alone. Joseph recognized his imperfections, yet he continually rose above his limitations, inspiring everyone around him with his resilience and boundless love.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ronda Ruth “Nonnie” Iracane; cousin, Eric Wolfe; and friend, Cody Glover.
Joseph’s legacy of love and compassion will live on through his devoted parents, Jeff and Amy Iracane Hunt; his sister, Jenna Hunt (Will Zizmann); his brother, Jake Hunt (Shelby Riney); his cherished grandparents, Beverly “Ninnie” and Bob “Daddy Bob” Hunt, and Joe “Poppie” Iracane; uncle John Iracane (Ashlie) and their children, Jack, Paul, A.J., and Annie Ruth; uncle Jim Hunt (Lori) and their son, Ethan; Robin Johnson, who was considered family; and numerous extended relatives and dear friends.
