
Howard W. McClure, 97, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born September 26, 1927 in Dayton, KY to the late Floyd B. McClure and Ethel Mae Willis McClure. Howard served in the U.S. Air Force for three years and graduated from Bowling Green College of Commerce. He retired as a supervisor from Green River Steel Corp. then sold insurance with Andy Anderson Insurance. Howard was past president of Green River Steel Management Club and past president of Owensboro Management Club. He served on the board of Cliff Hagan Boys Club, was an advisor for Junior Achievement, worked for NCAA Drug Testing Team and at 2nd Free Medical Clinic with Dr. William McManus. Howard was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, past Treasurer, and was a choir member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Guenther McClure; and a son, Howard W. McClure, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Bruner McClure; and a son, John G. McClure.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation is from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Private burial with military honors will be in Elmwood Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of his arrangements.
