Roger S. Stinnett, 86, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025, after a long battle with the autoimmune disease, myasthenia gravis. He was born July 25, 1938, in Owensboro, to the late L.T. and Lois Stinnett. Roger graduated from Owensboro Senior High School and went on to attend Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was an active member of the baptist church where he served in various capacities. Roger spent 30 years in Arizona, where he was a successful little league coach, member of The Board of Directors for the Tuscon Boys Clubs, and an elected member of The Flowing Wells School District Board of Education for two four-year terms. Roger returned to Owensboro to care for his parents. He worked for Titan Contracting and Leasing Company until his health started to decline. Roger also served on the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, serving one year as President, as well as the KWC All American Club Board, also serving as its President.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his previous wife, Jovonne Stinnett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Jennifer Stinnett; daughter, Tawnya Stinnett; son, Roger S. Stinnett II (Laura); grandchild, Carter N. Stinnett; his four-legged companions, Ziva and Gibbs; as well as a niece, nephew, and many cousins.
The funeral service for Roger will be 12 PM Saturday, March 22, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
