Charlie Hendershott 90, of Calhoun, Kentucky, formerly of Elberta, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Charles Eugene Hendershott was born May 4, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Clarence and Florence Best Hendersott, was married to the former Judy Olsen, until her death on February 2, 2009; was later married to the former Mary Margaret Griswald on June 18, 2010, and was better known as ‘Charlie’ to both his family and friends.
Charlie worked in grounds maintenance at several parks, gold courses and ballparks in Elberta, Michigan. He also earlier served as fire chief for the Elberta Fire Department. Charlie was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting sock monkeys.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Charlie was preceded in death by a step son, Kenneth Parson.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Hendershott; a son, Eugene Hendershott of Traverse City, Michigan; a daughter, Lisa Duncan of Traverse City; a step son, Allen Parson of Thomasville, Michigan; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Family services will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Charlie’s family.
