Julia Kathleen Howard Wright, 85, of Hawesville, was called home on March 8, 2025 after her long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born April 14, 1939 in Daviess County to the late James Simeon and Mary Lucy Boarman Howard. Kathy graduated from St. Mary of the Woods High School in 1957. She married her sweetheart, William Bernard Wright, on October 29, 1957 and together they had eight children. She worked at Quality Cleaners and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dennis, Donald, Norbert, Jerry, and Steve Howard; sons, Little Bill and Norman Wright; and a grandson, Shawn Horner.
She is survived by her husband, William Bernard Wright; children, Millie Roberts (Tony), Lucia Cunningham (Roger), Julia Young (Michael), William Wright II (Yevonne), Christopher Wright (Robert Jean), and Lois Roberts (Lonnie); daughter-in-law, Jaime Wright; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Howard (Linda), William Edward Howard (Pat) and Wilson Howard (Sandy); sisters, Etta Cooper (Steve), Nancy Barr (Gerald), Mary Jo Plas (Ken), and Cynthia Richards (Terry); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home.
