Buddy R. Brown, Sr., 87, of Owensboro, passed away on March 5, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1937, to the late Johnny Barker and Mary Belle Brown. In addition to his selfless service in the US Army, Buddy was a Forklift Driver at Whirlpool and a member of Southside Church of Christ.
In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed running, biking, taking care of animals, and loved to feed birds.
Along with his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rose Brown, and his son, Buddy R. Brown, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Dana (Norman) and Jonathan “Todd” Brown (Emy, Chief Caregiver and cherished daughter-in-law); his grandchildren, Derek Brown, Windy Owens (Marty), Tia Adamson (Nick), JD Spears, Josh Spears, Dakota Brown (Sara) and Gavin; his great-grandchildren, Queelyn, Jonathan, Madison, Kyndall, Cali, Raven, Kynlee, Haley, Joseph, Justice, with another on the way, Isabella Rose; his great-great-grandchild, Miracle; his sister, Martha, and his wonderful family in the Philippines.
Service and burial will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
