Peggy J. Bettinger, 99, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. She was born September 8, 1925 in Rockport, Indiana to the late Chris and Bess Hart Lusk. Peggy worked as the secretary for Rockport High School and was a former member of Patronville United Methodist Church. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and babysat all of them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Bettinger.
She is survived by a daughter, Gretchen LaMar; son, Eric Bettinger I (Malinda); four grandchildren, Erica Crabtree (Jerry), Kristin Bachmeier (Josh), Blake LaMar (Erica), and Eric Clay Bettinger II (Candice Durbin); and nine great-grandchildren, Jerry Crabtree III, Hayden Crabtree, Walker Crabtree, Owen Crabtree, Braden Mundy, Jackson Bachmeier, Grant LaMar, Korbyn Bettinger, and Colton Bettinger.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
