
David M Cooper, 71, of Hawesville passed away, peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2025 at his home with loved ones by his side, under the care of Hospice Western Kentucky. David was born on January 27, 1954 in Hawesville, KY to the late Arthur and Ina Belle Veach Cooper, Jr. He liked to work on automobiles, drive skidders and play with all of the grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Roger Cooper, son Jimmy Cooper and great grandson Alex Cooper.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Karen (Chigger) Voyles Cooper; two daughters Tabitha (John) Edge and Daphne (Eddie) Denson; daughter in law Edna Cooper; he was the proud grandpaw of nine grandchildren Cody (Kerri) Dukes, Devin (Aspen) Dillion, Nathan (Yvette) Perry, Haley Perry, Tyler (Amber) Cooper, Arthur (Kristen) Cooper, Emilee (Jeffrey) Bernardi, Maggie (Dakota) Kennedy and Shelby Cooper; eleven great grandkids Ariah, Aniston, Everleigh, Ollie, Jaxson, Allison, Kenzi, Tyler, Lora, Oaklee, Bryon and two more on the way. The grandchildren and great grandchildren now have one heck of an Angel to watch over them.
He was liked and loved by everyone and was a great kidder. He loved life to the fullest. We are going to miss you, so save a place for us, we will be there some day.
Services are at 1:00 pm Friday March 7, 2025 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Cooper Cemetery. David’s family will greet friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and Friday, from 9:00 am until service time at the Funeral Home.
