Maxine B. Kuykendall, 92, of Dogwood Estates, Beaver Dam, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born May 11, 1932 in Horse Branch, KY to the late Wavy and Cova Byers Beatty. Maxine had worked at General Electric and later in life worked at McDonalds. She was the oldest member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Maxine enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts, quilting, and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wyman Kuykendall; and siblings, Bud Beatty (Lily) and Sophia Sandefur (Pirtle).
She is survived by a daughter, Johnny Ashby; son, Brent Kuykendall; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elda Embry (Larry); brother, Curt Beatty (Malissa); and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Ohio County, KY. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
