Marion Josephine Garvey, 89, of Owensboro passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Redbanks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Henderson, KY. She was born on January 24, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Stanley and Josephine Povilaitis. Marion worked at the Chicago Police Department as an officer in the 1960s. In 2005, she moved to Owensboro where she lived at the Roosevelt House. She enjoyed bingo, arts and crafts, listening to Frank Sinatra, loved the Chicago Cubs, and watching movies with Keanu Reeves. She was also an Avon representative. She was very religious, loved God, and prayed every day.
In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Gagne; and siblings, Jean Lavery, Caroline Barry, Suzzette Miller, and Marcel Laroche.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Narkis; son, Richard Gagne; and grandchildren, Rachel Gonzales (Nelson), David Narkis, and Steven Gagne; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February, 28, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
