Archie Thomas Freels, 83, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born December 31, 1941 in Daviess County to the late Herbert Lee Freels and Mary Blanche King Freels. Archie had worked at Alcoa Aluminum and was a member of Salvation Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Freels and Herbert Lee Freels Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Lucille Bell and Elizabeth Caroline Allen.
He is survived by two daughters, Christine Michelle Nolan (H.K.) and Sonya Annette Hendrix (Justin); son, Shane Earl Lee Freels (Sylvia); five grandchildren, Bridger Hendrix, Braeden Hendrix, Savannah Freels, Elijah Freels, and Ayden Freels; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
