Delbert Stilwell, age 92 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away February 21, 2025, at BeeHive Homes of Louisville, KY. He was born in Breckinridge County on July 5, 1932, son of the late Albert and Marie Probus Stilwell. Delbert retired from Continental Air Filter after 32 years of service.
He was a devoted husband, father, Papaw and “Daddy” to his caregivers. Delbert loved life and saw beauty in the simple things. He fought hard through dementia and never stopped praising The Lord for blessing him with a good life, family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, music and riding 4 wheelers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae, grandson Gary Brown, siblings James Stilwell, Vitula Mercer and Viona Dennis.
Delbert is survived by his daughters Lisa Stilwell and Debbie Sanders of Louisville, KY
3 grandchildren: Danielle Hahn (Dewain), Beau Sanders and Stacy Powell
10 great grandchildren: Alexandria Brown (John), Jacob Brown (Sarah), Grace Brown, Trenten Hahn, Brelynn Yount (Jared), Maddi Sanders, Easton Sanders, Audrey Young, Heaven Powell, Royce Powell
6 great great grandchildren: Ashton, Tenley, Blakely, Collins, Baylee and Myla
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the Cook Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 2:30 – 7 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
