Marvin Albert Goetz, 75, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born April 19, 1949 in Owensboro to the late Albert and Anna Mae Hinsey Goetz. Marvin retired from Unilever where he worked as a forklift operator and was of the Catholic faith. He graduated from Daviess County High School in 1967. Marvin was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW and AmVets. Marvin enjoyed telling jokes to make you laugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Goetz; and siblings, Barbara Lashbrook, Herman Goetz, and Loretta Johnston.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Goetz and John Goetz (Bobbie Oldham); stepson, Buddy Lyons (Heather); two grandchildren, Jacob Lyons and Lucas Lyons; four siblings, Frances Gaddis, Eileen Fulkerson (Joe), Linda Powers, Mike Goetz (Sue); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
