Rickey Dean Goatee, 78, of Owensboro, passed away on February 7, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1946, in Owensboro to the late Willis and Dottie Rhineburger Goatee.
In his spare time, Ricky loved to fish, hunt, play guitar, and maintain his cherished garden. He most valued sharing his favorite pastimes with his friends and family.
Along with his parents, Rickey is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Helen Goatee, and his sisters, Betty Dockery and Janie Gariott.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Michael (Mia) Goatee of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph Goatee of Owensboro, KY, Paul Goatee of Stanley, KY, Christopher Goatee of Colorado Springs, CO, and Rachel Goatee of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Alex Goatee, Emily Goatee, Abby Goatee, and Jonnie Goatee; and siblings, Brenda Hannah, Wilma Jackson, and Bobby Goatee.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with prayers being said, by Father Will Thompson, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
