
Allen “Dale” Polston, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on February 5, 2025. He was born on December 8, 1953, to the late Junior Keith and Anna Polston. Dale worked as a steelworker at Hon Co. for over twenty-five years. He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church, was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, and was a proud union member and steelworker. In his post-retirement years, Dale enjoyed serving in guest services at The Owensboro Convention Center.
In his spare time, Dale enjoyed bowling in his younger years, NASCAR, cooking – especially Boston butt – was a car enthusiast, and an avid UofL fan. His family will remember him as a homebody who valued his family and relished their times together.
Along with his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Maurice Polston.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary K. “Katie” Mulligan Polston; his children, Allen Dale Polston, Jr, Carrie Ann Jewell-Ward (Jake), Lauren Polston Rosenberg (Lee), Katharine Suzanne Polston; his stepson, Jeffery Hayden, Jr.; his grandchildren, Michael Jewell, Jr. (Alex), Madison Jewell, Lucas Ward, Kobe Polston (Shyanna), Addy Polston, Vivian Bruner, and Will Rosenberg; his great-grandchildren, Eli, Ian, Jhett, and Oaklyn; his sibling, Terry Wayne Polston (Rachelle), and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Brother Tony Boyken officiating. Burial to follow at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
