Mary Lynn Lyons, 57, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 8, 1967 in Russellville, KY. She is survived by her parents, Virgil and Stacey Helton; her guardian, Rob Simpson and his family, Vanessa Simpson, Maddox Simpson, Ryker Simpson, Nathan Simpson (Baily and Noah), Ashile Hurley (Peter, Charlotte and Max) as well as the staff and residents of Davco Rest Home.
Mary was admitted to Davco shortly after her 18th birthday in 1985, where she immediately stole the staff’s hearts and became part of their family. She was employed as a Resident Worker of Davco Rest Home for well over 25 years and enjoyed bowling, listening to country music, and getting her nails done. She also loved Luke Duke, Reba, Waylon, and Big Mac’s in that order.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Davco Rest Home, 2526 West 10th Street, Owensboro. Ennichment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
