
Joseph Anthony “Tony” McPherson, 79, of Philpot, passed away on January 28, 2025. He was born on September 28, 1945, to the late Thomas Furman and Hallie Curtis McPherson.
Tony served our country, in the United States Air Force, was a lifetime farmer, and was a Metallurgist Lab Technician at Green River Steel before retiring. He was of Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. William’s Catholic Church. In his spare time, Tony enjoyed golfing, blackjack, and billiards, but what he valued most was his family and being a granddad to his beloved grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Tony is preceded in death by his siblings, Bill McPherson, Mary Helen Clark, Jim McPherson, Nina McClain, Jackie McPherson, Joann Smith Montgomery, Thomas “Pete” McPherson, and Nancy Ray.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Marianne Paulin McPherson; his children, Kevin McPherson and Brian “Keith” (Angela Stone) McPherson; his grandchildren, Danielle McPherson, of California, Olivia McPherson, Ethan McPherson, and Samuel McPherson; his great-grandchildren, Kevin and Renee Cozier; and his siblings, Bobby (Sharon) McPherson, Mary Rose Domalewski, and Marian (Bob) Davis.
Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Mike Clark officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fr. Mike Clark will lead in prayer at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will resume, on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
