
William Alexander Sanders, 78, of Lewisport, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 22, 1947 in Ft. Bragg, California. William was a retired crew leader at Domtar and a paratrooper in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He liked playing at golf and line dancing and enjoyed fishing. He was a UK and 49ers fan. His main thing was his grandkids. He loved watching them play golf, baseball, softball, karate, gymnastics, dance and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Barbara Madera Mahoney; siblings, Doreen Morgan, Rita Phillips, and Carol Padilla; and fur babies, Sable and Gigi.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Sanders; son, William Sanders III (Heather); daughter, Jenny Crabtree (Danny); four grandchildren, Kristin Marksberry (Jake), Garrett Crabtree, Hadlee Sanders, and Parker Sanders; one great-grandchild, Lucas Marksberry; and his dog, Flash.
Services will be private with military honors. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
