
Virginia L. Hornsby, 92, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, January 18th, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was one of twelve children, born July 16, 1932, in Harlin, KY to the late Gilbert and Mary Towe. Virginia retired from General Motors in Toledo, Ohio after over 20 years of service. She had a big heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Virginia was very family oriented and considered her family to be her world.
In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Hornsby; sons, Donald Hornsby and Kevin Hornsby; as well as her nine brothers, and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda Gray; sons, Ronald Hornsby and James Hornsby; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Virginia will be 12 PM Friday, January 24, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 PM until 6 PM and Friday 11 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
