Elizabeth “Betty” Joyce Hayden Clouse, 92, passed away on January 11, 2025, at The Carmel Home. The Daviess County native was born April 4, 1932, to the late Charles L. and Jessie Lanham Hayden. Betty worked several years at General Electric and retired from Swedish Match. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred A. Clouse in 2001; son, David Clouse; great grandson, Benjamin Gunter; siblings Joe, Gene and Jerry Hayden, Mary Boehman and Kay Grant.
Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne (Ken) Woosnam of Utica and five sons, Stephen (Sherry) of Calhoun, Dennis (Karen) and Jeffrey of Owensboro, Timothy (Tina) and Kelly (Stephanie) of Utica; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, sisters; Joann (Frank) Genovese of New York, Sue Crabtree of Calhoun; brothers, Tony (Patsy) Hayden, Bobby (Lorraine) of Owensboro, Tommy (Janice) of Eddyville, KY and sisters-in-law; Teresa Clouse, Mamie McDaniel, Cecilia Clouse and Rose (Craig) Mauzy, all of Owensboro, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sorgho with burial in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayer service at 6 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service.
