Lesa Gail (Patton) Keown

Lesa Gail Patton Keown, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2025. Lesa was a devoted Southern Baptist and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and most of all, Mamaw.

Lesa was born in Owensboro, KY, on July 27, 1960, and later moved to Hawesville, KY, where she called home for the remainder of her life. She was the first child of Liz and Ray Patton Sr. and was later blessed with two younger brothers, Ray Jr. and James Patton. Lesa attended Hancock County schools and studied at Eastern Kentucky University with a passion for broadcasting.

Lesa became a mother with the birth of her son Nicolas Patton on February 9, 1980, and again with the birth of her daughter Christina Lambert on June 30, 1984. She loved her children dearly and was a constant support and safe haven for her children to turn to.

Lesa has been a member of the Hawesville Baptist Church for the majority of her life. She loved God, her church, her Sunday School, being a member of the Kentucky WMU, and a constant volunteer within the community helping bring others closer to God.

Lesa started her career with Walmart in November 1987, where she was still employed at the time of her passing. Very recently Lesa became a Certified Optician, which was an accomplishment that Lesa was very proud of. It was at Walmart where Lesa met her husband, Michael Dennis Keown, and they were married on October 1, 1994. Lesa’s love for her husband was unconditional and evident as she cared and nursed him until his passing, never leaving his side and missing him till her last breath.

Lesa spent her free time partaking in a traveling group that ventured all around the country, participating in the Hancock County Homemakers, enjoying arts and crafts, taking her dream trip to Italy, and doting on her 2 grandkids and preparing for another one on the way.

Lesa was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dennis Keown, brother, James Patton, and mother and father Liz and Ray Patton Sr.

Survivors include children: Nicolas Patton (Cherie) and Christina Lambert. Grandchildren: Isabella Patton, Lucas Patton, and Baby Girl Lambert. Siblings: Ray Patton Jr. (Paula) and sister-in-law, Diana Patton. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Serenity Hills. Lesa’s family will be greeting friends on Saturday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
