Maxine Wright Johnson, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on March 11, 1943 in Daviess County to the late Everett and Pearl Young Wright. She was a member of Owensboro Memorial Tabernacle Church. Maxine loved music and was a piano player at church and taught Sunday school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Lee Wright and Cletus Eugene Wright; and sister, Ova Lena Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Wilbur Johnson; two sons, Denzil Ray Johnson (Mary) and Paul Edwin Johnson (Reva); daughter, Donna Kay Pears (Kevin); 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Wright.
Services will be at 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
