On the 22nd day of December, 2024, Barbara Ann Cottrell, of Hartford, went to be with her heavenly father. She was born July 24, 1943 in Muhlenberg County to the late James P. Hawes, Jr. and Beatrice Ward Hawes. Barbara retired from Bob’s IGA and as a U.S. Postal Contractor. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Eastern Star, Stanley Chapter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Cottrell, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy M. Beard; two sons, William Cottrell, Jr. (Stephanie) and Jeff Cottrell (Sherrie); grandchildren, Beth McKenzie, Emma McKenzie, Chris Johnson, Hannah Griffin, Tyler Cottrell, Katie Cottrell and several other grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Jacquelyn Obenchain.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
