Bill Crabtree  75, of the Panther Community in Daviess County, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at his home.  William Ellis Crabtree was born May 6, 1949 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Morgan Lee and Mildred Lee Ramburger Crabtree, was married to the former Carolyn Marie Stinnett on July 7, 1972 and was better known as ‘Bill’ to both his family and friends.

Bill retired from Accuride in Henderson.  Earlier, he worked as a longtime coal miner for the Green Coal Company in Panther.  After his retirement from Accuride, Bill worked at Panther Creek Golf Course.

Bill was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415.  He enjoyed both hunting and gardening, spending time in his tobacco barn, and was a member of the N.W.T.F.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a grandson, Jameson Carter Vanover and by three brothers, Barry Crabtree, Tony Crabtree, and Scott Crabtree.

Bill  is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Crabtree; a daughter, Brandy Cockerell (Junior) of Panther; three grandchildren, Leeah Harper (Ronnie), Tristan Vanover (Aaron), and Sarah Cockerell (Falisha); six great-grandchildren, Raelynn Vanover, Henry Harper, Bennett Vanover, Owen Harper, Madilyn Harper, and Natalie Vanover; four brothers, Richard Crabtree (Sandy), Louis Crabtree (Peggy) both of Calhoun, John Crabtree of Leitchfield, and Steve Crabtree (Cindy) of Buck Creek; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Burial will be in the Little Flock Cemetery in Daviess County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415.  Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
