
Rose Jeanette Enot Napier Medley, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on December 19, 2024. She was born in Boonville, IN, on September 24, 1935, to the late John Enot Jr. and Aldona Partock Enot.
Jeanette was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, where she served on the bereavement team. She was an avid reader who regularly frequented the Public Library. She enjoyed participating in numerous book clubs, including The Married Ladies Reading Club where she was an Officer. Jeanette was a founding member of Impact 100 and, along with her husband, created an endowment in support of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art. In her earlier years, she was a Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Den Mother. Jeanette was a graduate of Saint Mary’s School of Nursing. Jeanette was a member of the Daviess County Medical Society Auxiliary and was instrumental in starting Outpatient Surgery for Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing and gardening. Her family will remember her as a loving matriarch who was caring, hardworking, and modeled traditional values.
Along with her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Merle D. Napier, MD.; son, David J. Napier; sister, JoAnn Williams and, twin sister, Kathryn Jean Enot.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, R. Wathen Medley, Jr., MD; her children, Susan Napier Ramsay (Royce) and Kathy Napier; her stepchildren, Richard W. Medley III, MD (Jenny), and Laura R. Medley; her grandchildren, Alan Napier Ramsay (Ashia Jack) and Jane Napier Ramsay (Frank Peaslee); and step-grandchild, Nick Medley.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the caregivers of Comfort Keepers, Tina Basham, and the late Janet Layson.
Mass will be held at noon on Monday, December 23, 2024, at St. Stephen Cathedral, with Father John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation at St. Stephen Cathedral on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
