Nancy Hocker Ward, 92, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home. She was born October 10, 1932 in Owensboro to the late Bernie and Lena Johnson Hocker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William G. Ward, M.D.; a granddaughter, Christina Marie Polio; and her brothers, Wallis G. Hocker, Joseph Edward Hocker, and Wall Lou Hocker.
She is survived by a son, William G. Ward, Jr. (Lida); and daughters, Sarah Trester and Felicity Polio (Joe); eight grandchildren, Andy Eastes (Kalie), Lena Eastes, Jessica Stone (Ryan), Justin Ward, Samuel Polio, Michael Polio (Taryn), Willie Polio, and Joey Polio (Courtney); and seven great- grandchildren, Neila, Coraline, Thomas, Charli, Austyn, Naia Grace, and Anna Christine.
A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Granny, she will be missed by all. She leaves to us an appreciation of the musical, decorative, culinary, language, and fine arts. She taught us an admiration for nature, history, and culture. We inherit a legacy of loving dedication and commitment to the service of family, friends, and community.
Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
